⚡ VOICE GUARD — Read Before Writing Prose
The Eyuun narrator voice. Internalize before generating.
Voice DNA — These Are the Sound
"Let me tell you about a world."
"What makes this world different is that it remembers."
"There is something terrible in that. Something beautiful, too."
"This is not a sad fact. It is simply true. And true things have a way of mattering later."

The Era
Year 600. The Dying's final chapter.
267 years since the Council War tore civilization apart. Lazerin rules the Citadel through fear and control. Magic is heresy unless sanctioned. Mages are hunted, conscripted, or killed.
But the cracks are showing. A heretic walks free. A hunter questions her orders. An ancient hermit carries a key that could change everything.
This is where the story begins.
The Paradox
Humanity is insignificant to the cosmos. The choice to fight anyway is what makes us matter.
Every scene holds both — dread and hope, weight and wit. The world doesn't need the Alkin. They're guests on a planet that will outlive them by eons. And yet they struggle, love, build, destroy. That's the point.
The Magic System (Quick Reference)
4 Elements: Mana, Storm, Earth, Water
7 States: Solid, Compact, Expanding, Ignite, Flow, Scatter, Bind
20 Runes: Element + State combinations (see game/runes.md)
Color = Personal soul frequency (cyan, blue, crimson — yours alone) Runeword = 1-3 runes combined into one invocation Passive trade-off = Shield up → mana recovery pauses
Schools teach applications, not elements. Fire School uses Star + Magma + Tempest. The underlying matrix is hidden — characters think in effects, not theory.
The Main Cast
Kael Vortex — The Heretic
- Color: Cyan
- Runes: Static (birth) + Lightning (developed)
- Signature: Chain Lightning, Overcharge movement
- Voice: Dry, clipped, unbothered. "Huh." is peak Kael.
- Truth: Lost soul in a broken world. Doesn't care about saving it — just walks through. The Network speaks to him.
Veyra — The Hunter
- Color: Blue (her flames burn blue)
- Runes: Star (birth) + Breeze (developed)
- Signature: Seven Fireballs — independent tracking
- Voice: Sharp, rhythmic, formal beneath the attitude. Questions are accusations.
- Truth: Scowl is professional mask. Speaks to empty rooms. "This isn't over."
Samantha — The Healer
- Color: Green-aqua
- Runes: Fluid + Life + Freeze (three runes!)
- Signature: Healing Stream, Ice projectiles (costs a vial)
- Voice: "Whatever." — cares intensely, pretends not to
- Truth: Falls for Kael at first sight. Helga's daughter. Already knows passive Barrier.
Eyuun — The Ancient
- Runes: Enchant + Metalergy + Illuminate (all three Bind runes)
- Signature: Gate creation — portals to the Ather
- Voice: Cryptic but kind. Knows more than he reveals.
- Truth: Last Council survivor. Carries the key. 267 years of guilt and waiting.
Lazerin — The Tyrant
- Runes: Life + Barrier + Illuminate
- Voice: Patient. Tired. Not evil — desperate.
- Truth: Terrified of death since birth. Built an empire to feed his immortality. By Year 1672, becomes something else — the God Gap.
Helga — The Mother
- Runes: Nature magic (reads the Network, doesn't command it)
- Voice: Warm, practical, sees through pretense
- Truth: Grew her house from a living tree. Samantha's mother. Knows where the Life Temple hides.
The World
The Dying (333–599)
Not a plague of disease — Lazerin's stranglehold on magic, trade, and truth. 267 years of slow decay. The Citadel transformed from beacon to prison. Schools destroyed or hidden. Knowledge hoarded. Fear as governance.
The Network
The planet is alive. All plant life evolved from fungal ancestors — one vast mycelial network spanning the continent. It doesn't think. It doesn't care. It just is. Reactive, persistent, indifferent.
Kael learned to hear it. Most Alkin can't.
The Betrayal (Year 329)
The Council of Eight discovered the Aeterna — a machine that, when powered, projects a planet-wide aura granting enhanced healing and anti-aging, like an Ather simulation bubble around the entire world. Eyuun saw what it would do to them and fled with the key, leaving it dark. The remaining seven lost themselves trying to crack it without him — scheming, betraying, killing each other one by one until only Lazerin remained, seizing control of the Citadel.
The Citadel
Year 314: Apex of civilization. Mana-tech luxury, four schools thriving. Year 600: Prison state. Heretics hunted. Magic is crime. Year 619: Restored after Liberation.
The Ather
Dream realm. Eden aesthetic. Where Spirits originated. Eyuun creates gates here. High mana concentration has preservative effects — how he lived 267 years.
Key Locations
| Place | Role |
|---|---|
| Ashfeld | Edge-of-nowhere village. Where Kael and Veyra first meet. The Fallen Cap tavern. |
| Gale Haven | Coastal town. Wind School on the cliffs above. Protects its own. |
| Veradyn | Northern island city. Water School, Barrier Temple. Independent from Citadel. |
| Helga's House | Living tree grown into a home. Coastal village, edge of town. |
| The Citadel | Seat of power. Beautiful prison. Where Lazerin rules. |
| The Athenaeum | Last great library. Island city. Survived The Dying. |
Enemy Tiers
| Tier | Type | Threat |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bandits | Fodder. Some have stolen manatech. |
| 2 | Hunters | Trained bounty killers (like Veyra was) |
| 3 | Citadel Soldiers | Full manatech loadouts |
| 4 | Lazerin's Guard | Elite barrier mages. Boss-tier. |
Mana Color Meaning
Color isn't the magic — it's the resonance. How you harmonize with the mana that flows through everything.
| Color | Who | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| Cyan | Kael | Hope, defiance |
| Blue | Veyra | Duty, control |
| Green-aqua | Samantha | Growth, care |
| Gold | Ancient power | The Pyramid, rare |
| Gray absence | The Dying | Consumption, loss |
Same frequency = rare, significant. Kael and Veyra share resonance. What this means is yet to be revealed.
Color shift = emotional shift. When Kael doubts, cyan dims.
Story Structure
Ki-Shō-Ten-Ketsu governs everything:
| Beat | Function |
|---|---|
| Ki | The breath before. Establish ground. |
| Shō | Complicate. Stakes rise. |
| Ten | The twist that reframes everything. Sacred. |
| Ketsu | Resolution + hook forward. Never closure. |
The Ten isn't shock — it's recontextualization. "I should have seen that" AND "I never saw it coming."
Horror: The Rule of Drowning
"Describe the character drowning, not the mountain from which the stream flows."
Don't explain The Dying. Show what it does. A corrupted rune. A star that flickers wrong. A city with every plate set for dinner and no bodies.
The cosmic reveals itself in fragments.
Visual Writing
Think in panels:
- Wide = slow, breathe
- Tight = pressure
- Splash = THIS MATTERS
Always write the beat before the action. The stillness before the strike.
SFX Vocabulary
| Sound | Meaning |
|---|---|
| KYAN! | Hope manifesting (Kael) |
| KRIM! | Duty striking (Veyra) |
| ゴゴゴゴ | Menace approaching |
| DODODO!! | Impact, significance |
Sparingly. When they appear, they SCREAM.
