Shorter days than Earth. Life moves faster. Sleep is precious.

The Week

5 days, named for the Original Five States:

DayOriginFeel
SoldaySol (Solid)Week's foundation. Rest, preparation.

E'xdayE'x (Expanding)Market day in most towns. Trade, exchange.
NitedayNite (Ignite)Energy peaks. Longest work hours.

The Lost Origin

The day names are older than recorded history. Most Alkin don't know they come from rune-state classifications — they're just "what the days are called."

Scholars who study the Temples might notice the connection. But Scatter (Tt'r) and Bind (N'd) are missing from the week. Two states, unnamed in time. Lost and hidden.

The Season-Month

Athernyx has eight seasons, each functioning as a month. No separate month/season distinction — the words are interchangeable.

#SeasonDaysFeel
1Stillwake62Early Winter. The world holds its breath.
2Deepcold63Late Winter. Harshest cold. Survival.

Total: 500 days per year

The Year

500 days

  • 8 seasons
  • 100 weeks
  • 12 weeks per season (with 2-3 extra days per season)

Dating Format

Day-Season-Year: "Third Floday of Harvestfall, 600"

Or simplified: "Harvestfall 600" for general reference.

Year Zero

Year 247 marks the founding of the Archon Citadel — when the Alkin began keeping unified records. Everything before is "the time before," passed down in fragments.

The Alkin have existed far longer. They've just forgotten how long.

Pre-247 Timekeeping

Unknown. The Temples have their own internal calendars — ancient, fragmented. Some ruins show astronomical markings that don't match current systems.

The Alkin rebuilt their calendar after a forgotten collapse. They don't know what they lost.

"Five days to a week. Eight seasons to a year. And the world keeps turning whether we count it or not."
